Ahmet Oner: “Yildirim Will Arrive in Tip Top Condition to Fight “Canelo”

On February 27 in Miami, Florida, Turkish Avni Yildirim will challenge the super middleweight champion of the World Boxing Council, Saúl ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

Yildirim’s manager, Ahmet Oner, guarantees that his fighter will arrive at the clash in excellent shape, stressing: “Avni is strong and big. I believe in him. Avni has improved a lot since his loss to Chris Eubank. Without a doubt, Canelo is very strong too, but he is not a God! Rather, he is a human being and as such, he has strong and weak spots.

“In Boxing nothing is written in stone. There are cases like those of Buster Douglas and Andy Ruiz, who not being favourites monumentally triumphed. Avni is a great athlete and he has all the qualities to win.”

Ahmet also commented that with coach Joel Díaz, Avni has made excellent progress and that he is now on a different level.
