Akeem Ennis Brown Takes on Sam Maxwell Friday March 26th
Akeem Ennis Brown will defend his British and Commonwealth super-lightweight titles in a superb battle against Sam Maxwell next month.
The pair will square off on a Queensberry Promotions show at the Copper Box Arena in London on Friday 26 March, live on BT Sport.
Brown (14-0, 1 KO) won the belts with a fantastic win over Philip Bowes last September, and the man known as Riiddy Riiddy Riival will now face another tough test when he goes up against fellow unbeaten fighter Maxwell (14-0, 11 KOs).
Maxwell picked up a big win in his last fight, defeating former European champion Joe Hughes by unanimous decision last August.
The event next month will also see Sam Gilley (11-0, 5 KOs) challenge Danny Ball (9-0-1, 4KOs) for the WBC International Silver welterweight championship, while super-bantamweight sensation Dennis McCann (8-0, 5 KOs) make his return, as he clashes with Mexico’s Luis Moreno (9-1, 6 KOs) over eight rounds.
Promoter Frank Warren said: “The matches are top class, they will deliver excitement, knockouts, thrillers and I bet there are one or two upsets.
“In the British and Commonwealth title fight you can make a big case for both men winning. It’s a pick ‘em fight and that’s what TV viewers want.
“It is such a shame that fans will not be there and the sooner they’re back in arenas the better, but these cards will whet the appetite for when they are allowed in.”
