Andy Ruiz Prepares For Big Return Against Chris Arreola in May 1st
Former world heavyweight champion, Mexican Andy Ruiz (33-2, 22KO’s), is focused and training hard with the goal of becoming world champion all over again.
After a 17-month break, Andy will return to the ring to face Mexican-American contender Chris Arreola on May 1 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
“Here we are training hard, I don’t want to lose again and keep doing the things that I was not doing well. Now I am working with discipline, I feel happy, I feel strong and I am ready for May 1 and we are going to win this fight, ”said Ruiz, who works guided by the astute leadership of Eddy Reynoso.
“Eddy sees the potential I have and he told me that I needed to be disciplined if I was going to work with him. I don’t think I was ever that disciplined until now. Being with ‘Canelo’, with Ryan García, Oscar Valdez, surrounded by great champions, great people who are motivated, we are all on the same path, we help each other. So being here with Eddy is a blessing because we are learning every day and we are working hard. I learned a lot from all the trainers I have had and I am grateful to them. Eddy likes to perfect every punch and every move in the ring. That level of detail is something I had never had.”
