Archie Sharp Reacts After Fight Postponement
Archie Sharp vs. Marcio Soza Cancelled
Archie Sharp insists he will not stress and worry about things he cannot change after this week’s planned fight with Marcio Soza was called off.
Undefeated Sharp (19-0, 9 KOs) was set to face Soza (21-6-2, 12 KOs) for the vacant WBO Global super-featherweight title at the Telford International Centre on a Queensberry Promotions event live on BT Sport on Saturday, but Soza tested positive for COVID-19 this week.
It meant that the fight had to be postponed, with it now looking likely that Sharp will return in July, and he revealed he is trying to remain upbeat and will trust the process ahead of him.
Sharp said: “Gutted ain’t the word. I’m in the best shape of my life I’ve just got to trust what’s ahead and keep on the grind. I’ll pick up this WBO Global belt in July and then it’s the world title.
“Too many people stress and worry about things that you cannot change. You just need to chill and trust the process.”
Sharp was last in action in August, earning a points victory over Jeff Ofori, while he also holds wins against the likes of Artjoms Ramlavs, Declan Geraghty, Jordan McCorry and Lyon Woodstock during his career.
