ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships confirms prize event
Following the ASBC Asian Elite Boxing Championships, the EUBC U22 European Boxing Championships and the EUBC Junior European Boxing Championships the fourth major international event will be a money prize event. The upcoming ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on August 17-31 and AIBA guarantees money prizes for all the medallists.
The gold youth medallists of the continental tournament will get 6,000 USD, the silver medallists 3,000 USD, while those who claim bronze in all of the weight categories can expect 1,500 USD following their performances.
The money prizes for the juniors will be the same as at the EUBC Junior European Boxing Championships which finished in Tbilisi in the middle of July. 4,000 USD for the gold medallists, 2,000 for the silver medallists and 1,000 USD for the bronze medallists.
For the very first time in the Asian boxing events’ history, two age groups, the junior and the youth boxers, can attend one championship. Male and female boxers who were born in 2003 and in 2004 are eligible to compete in the ASBC Asian Youth Boxing Championships. The younger talents who were born in 2005 and in 2006 can attend the ASBC Asian Junior Boxing Championships in Dubai.
The final registrations for the ASBC Asian Youth & Junior Boxing Championships are officially extended until August 2. All of the affiliated Asian National Federations can register to the forthcoming event which will be a new milestone in the continent.
Sixteen nations competed in the last ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in November 2019, where 10 females and 10 male boxers celebrated their gold medals.
Last ASBC Asian Confederation Junior Boxing Championships was held in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates in October 2019 and was attended by 26 countries. The number of boxers was 239 altogether including 170 male and 69 female athletes.
