Avci vs. Pialari headlines UBO Championship night in Turkey September 3
Arda Avci vs. Idd Pialari
Caferaga Sports Hall in Istanbul, Turkey 3/9/21
A massive Universal Boxing Organization™ championship triple-header is set for September 3 at the Caferaga Sports Hall in Istanbul, Turkey.
In the main event, two UBO champions will collide, when Inter-Continental titlist Arda Avci takes on All-Africa ruler Idd Pialari for the vacant UBO World Welterweight title.
Undefeated Avci (9-0, 9 KOs) won the Inter-Continental Super Welterweight title last February in Ukraine.
He has since stayed busy with two non-title victories, and is now ready to move down in weight to fight for the World Welterweight title on home turf.
Tanzanian Pialari (28-6-1, 20 KOs) won UBO and WBF All-Africa titles in 2016. In 2017 he captured the UBO International title, and in 2019 he reclaimed the UBO All-Africa title he had previously relinquished.
At 27 he is six years younger than Avci, but by far the most experienced and accomplished foe the Turk has faced. Both carry significant power, so fireworks is expected in front of a sell-out crowd.
Also on the card will be be two UBO European championship fights, as rising prospect Hassan Kubilay Alcu (4-0, 4 KOs) and female star Dilara Yucel (7-0, 6 KOs) will contest the vacant titles at Light Heavyweight and Super Welterweight respectively.
Alcu and Yucel were supposed to fight for the titles on July 24 in Albania, but the fights were postponed when both their opponents tested positive for Covid-19.
The show, televised live by TV 8,5, will be promoted by Serdar Avci Promotions.
