The World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Bantamweight Champion, American Brandon Figueroa, will start a season of fights announced by Showtime Championship Boxing on May 15th against Luis Nery in a unification fight at the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles, California.
The fight between Figueroa and Nery the WBC belt will also be on the line and is one of the most interesting fights in the 122-pound class today. The WBA champion is known for his grit and aggressive style, which has left great battles for the public, and against the style of Nery, who is southpaw, lanky and with many tools, the fight is also expected to be very interesting.
Figueroa will be making his fourth defense since becoming champion. At only 24 years of age, he already has good experience and feels ready to beat the best in the category.
