Canelo to Face Yildirim in Miami Feb 27 at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium

World Boxing Council super-middle-time champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will defend his title against Turkish Avni Yildirim on February 27 at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium.

This Thursday was the official announcement of this fight, which although originally wanted to take place in Mexico, due to the pandemic had to take place in the city of Miami.

This will be the first 168-pound defense “Canelo” won by defeating Britain’s Callum Smith last December.

Yildirim, a mandatory challenger to the world title, will return to activity after losing a close technical decision to former champion Anthony Dirrell.

“Canelo” has commented on several occasions that if all goes well in his next fight, he aims to peel at least three times this year.

El campeón supermedio del Consejo Mundial de Boxeo, Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez, defenderá su título contra el turco Avni Yildirim el próximo 27 de febrero en el Hard Rock Stadium de Miami.

Este jueves se realizó el anuncio oficial de este combate, que aunque originalmente se quería realizar en México, debido a la pandemia tuvo que concretarse en la ciudad de Miami.

Esta será la primera defensa del cetro de las168 libras que “Canelo” ganó al derrotar al britanico Callum Smith en diciembre pasado.

Por su parte Yildirim, retador obligatorio al título mundial, regresará a la actividad después de perder una cerrada decisión técnica contra el ex campeón Anthony Dirrell.

“Canelo” ha comentado en diversas ocasiones que si todo sale bien en su siguiente pelea, tiene el objetivo de pelar al menos tres veces este año.
