Chantelle Cameron will Defend Her World Title in Las Vegas May 29th
Chantelle Cameron vs. Melissa Hernandez
Chantelle Cameron will defend her WBC super-lightweight title against Melissa Hernandez at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on May 29.
The fight takes places on the undercard of Devin Haney’s WBC lightweight title fight against Jorge Linares, and will be broadcast worldwide on DAZN.
Cameron (13-0 7 KOs) makes the first defence of the title she won with a dominant points win over Adriana dos Santos Araujo in October, as she looks to continue that momentum when she turns her attention to Hernandez (23-7-3 7 KOs).
The pair were initially set to fight in March before an injury forced the fight to be pushed back, with Cameron now getting the chance to fight in the USA for the first time.
Hernandez is the former WBC featherweight champion and has also challenged for the WBC lightweight title, with the Puerto Rican now looking to win a world title at 140lbs.
Promoter Eddie Hearn said: “It’s a brilliant opportunity for Chantelle Cameron to showcase her skills in the States and stake her claim for the unification fights she craves, against a tough competitor in Melissa Hernandez.”
