Liam Williams and Chris Eubank Jr continued their war of words as they held their final press conference on Thursday ahead of this weekend’s highly-anticipated showdown.

The two men collide at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff on Saturday, on an event that will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Williams (23-3-1, 18 KOs) and Eubank Jr (31-2, 23 KOs) both had plenty to say as they spoke in front of the media, and they were each confident of earning the win.

Williams said: “This is an unbelievable opportunity to fight in Cardiff in a high level fight. I’m so excited to put an end to this guy and drop him down a few levels. He’ll realise his level after this fight.

“I’ve got a better skillset, and I punch harder than him. He’s tough and takes a good shot, but his legs and very robotic. Once the going gets tough he’ll revert to type, and we’ll find out on Saturday who the better man is.

“I’m super up for this fight. Chris doubts his ability as he’s put a rematch clause in. If I was going to fight somebody I thought I would blow out the water, I wouldn’t have a rematch clause. Depending how badly I beat him, he might want to take it, or he might not.

“I have the power to stop him. It will be an intense fight and a good one for the fans. I’ve prepared for a hard 12-round fight, but I do hope to knock him out.”

Eubank Jr said: “I didn’t spend a year and a half on a farm training hard for nothing. We’re on our way to world titles and to cleaning up the middleweight division. Williams is the next man in front of me and I’ll take him out.

“He’s talking about rematch clauses and this other stuff, business is business, none of that matters. All that matters is what will happen on the night, and that’s me standing over him, looking down and raising my fists as he gets counted out.

“We have the styles to make this an epic fight, and I can’t wait to get in there and prove the doubters wrong. We’ll see who has the better chin, better speed and better tactics. I don’t think he has the chin to withstand the punishment that is coming his way.

“I know what I can do and I know what I have done to guys that I believe are better than him, so in my mind I’ve already won the fight.”
