Courtenay vs. Bridges for the WBA Bantamweight Title This Saturday
Shannon Courtenay and Ebanie Bridges will face each other on Saturday at Wembley Arena for the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) Bantamweight belt in a Matchroom Boxing event that will have Conor Benn defending his WBA-Continental Welterweight title against Samuel Vargas in the main fight.
Courtenay and Bridges are two rising female prospects who have found a great opportunity to become world champions. The British fighter is nicknamed “The Baby Face Assassin” and started her professional career in 2019 in a path full of challenges that she has overcome with courage.
Bridges, native of Australia, also debuted in 2019 and is undefeated so far. After winning an IBF regional title at 122 pounds, she will move down a weight class for the biggest challenge in her career so far.
The promotional activities will take place this week on British soil. The weigh-in ceremony will be on Friday, and both boxers will have to weigh no more than 118 pounds to be able to fight for the belt on Saturday.
Courtenay has a record of 6 wins, 1 loss and 3 KOs, while Bridges has 5 wins, no setbacks, and 2 KOs.
