Dewayne Beamon faces José Farfán this Friday in Barranquilla, Colombia
Dewayne Beamon vs. José Farfán
Sugar Baby Rojas Coliseum in Barranquilla, Colombia 22/10/21
American Dewayne Beamon and Venezuelan José Farfán will fight for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Fedecaribe super flyweight title this Friday at the Sugar Baby Rojas Coliseum in Barranquilla, Colombia.
The coastal city will have a great event with international presence and Beamon’s confrontation with Farfan will be the main fight of the event. After a career in the United States and Mexico, the American has made Colombia his home and has since won four fights on its soil.
The North Carolina native has been on a hot streak in his last few fights and has earned the right to fight for the WBA regional belt. The 36-year-old veteran has faced several experienced opponents, most notably current 115-pound super champion Juan Francisco “Gallo” Estrada of Mexico.
Farfan is a less experienced opponent but has a good record and a respectable knockout percentage of eighty percent. The 32-year-old fighter has not lost since 2019 and will be making his first international fight, so the level of difficulty of this fight poses a great challenge for him.
Already Barranquilla is living the pre-event party, in which the Argentine Yesica Bopp will defend her WBA title against the Venezuelan Johana Blanco Zuñiga. Beamon has a record of 20 wins, 4 losses, 2 draws and 15 knockouts, while Farfan has 10 wins, one loss and 8 knockouts.
