WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury held court like only he can after Dillian Whyte no-showed their launch press conference on Tuesday.

The two fighters go head to head at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 23 April, and the event will be broadcast live on BT Sport Box Office in the UK and on ESPN PPV in the USA. Tickets go on sale exclusively from Ticketmaster at midday on Wednesday 2 March.

Fury was in his usual entertaining mood as he spoke in front of the media, as he prepares to fight in the UK for the first time in nearly four years.

Fury said: “It’s been a rollercoaster. I’ve been across the Atlantic ocean fighting in exotic venues like the MGM Grand, T-Mobile Arena and Staples Center. Now the boys are back in town.

“It’s been four years and now I get to come back and showcase my talents on the biggest stage. I’m putting this fight on the fans, and for all of people who came to Vegas, and who stayed up until 5 in the morning. They can enjoy the event on home soil and be a part of history.

“People can talk about it and say where were you when this happened. Where were you when Fury smashed this fella to pieces. I believe it’s the biggest all-British heavyweight fight since Lewis against Bruno, so it’s a fantastic event.

“I know Whyte will be prepared and rough and aggressive, and we’re both going for the knockout. When I land the Lancaster Bomber on his jaw it could be over. It could be round 1 or round 6, I don’t see it going past that, then we’ll party down in the big smoke.

“This is the Tyson Fury roadshow. The next stop is London. It’s never about the opponent, it’s all about the Gypsy King. You’re going to see the Ferrari racing the Vauxhall Corsa. There’s levels to this game.”
