DP Carr: Dean Dodge Hasn’t Boxed at My Level!
DP Carr believes he is levels above Dean Dodge ahead of their Southern Area super-featherweight title fight on Friday’s huge #MTKFightNight.
Unbeaten fighters will collide as Carr (11-0-1, 4 KOs) faces Dodge (9-0-1, 3 KOs) at the University of Bolton Stadium, live in the US on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank and worldwide on IFL TV.
The fight will also serve as an eliminator for the English super-featherweight title, and Carr thinks he will have far too much for his opponent.
Carr said: “Dean hasn’t boxed at this level. I believe in myself and I’m very confident that I’m going to come out victorious and beat Dean Dodge in very good fashion.
“I’m sure he will be game and will try and rip the belt away from me, but he won’t. I like it when they come for a tear up, as it’s where I come into my own.
“It’s great that the fight is an English title eliminator as well, as the English belt is what I have had my eye on for a while, so I would love to win that title.”
Elsewhere on Friday’s huge card, Sean McComb and Gavin Gwynne meet for the vacant Commonwealth lightweight title, Darren Tetley meets Samuel Antwi for the vacant English welterweight title, Pierce O’Leary fights Irvin Magno, Mark McKeown takes on Brad Daws, Paddy Donovan goes up against Siar Ozgul, Elliot Whale faces Jamie Stewart, and Mohammed Sameer is back in action.
