Francesco Sarchioto vs. Zaza Amiridze: Sarchioto wins UBO belt

Francesco Sarchioto vs. Zaza Amiridze
Rome, Italy – 24 July 2022
After weeks of preparing to fight Marino Bucciarelli, Francesco Sarchioto had to deal with a nightmare situation when his fellow countryman pulled out injured only a couple of days before their planned fight in Ariccia, Italy on July 24.
With the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Super Welterweight title on the line in the main event fight, a frantic search for a substitute ended when Georgian journeyman Zaza Amiridze saved the day.
Sarchioto, now 15-1 (5), proved he has a champions mindset, as he went on with business and showed his superiority from the start. Amiridze was game and tried his best, but the local man eventually forced a sixth round stoppage to win his first professional title.
It remains to be seen if the Bucciarelli fight can be rescheduled, but in any case Sarchioto is more than ready for bigger challenges. The 27-year-old has not lost since coming up short in his pro debut, and looks like someone worth keeping an eye on.
The fight, staged at the Piazza Di Corte, was promoted by Zampatore Boxe in association with Danilo Boxe and Imperium Boxe.
