Gabriel Ochieng vs. Mbarouk Selemani for UBO All Africa title in Nairobi
Gabriel Ochieng vs. Mbarouk Selemani
Charter Hall in Nairobi – 5 March 2022
Gabriel Ochieng (20-8-1, 15 KOs) may have lost his last fight, against Ghanaian star Joseph “King Kong” Agbeko, but the Kenyan veteran feels he still has plenty to give in the ring.
So on March 5, at the Charter Hall in Nairobi, he will return to fight for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) All-Africa Super Bantamweight title, in the main event of a card promoted by Aememax Boxing Promotions.
The former UBO International Champion at Bantamweight will face undefeated Tanzanian Mbarouk Selemani (5-0-2, 5 KOs), who has power in both hands to be a dangerous task.
Ochieng has a long history of big fights against Tanzanian opponents. In 2011 he lost a decision to former IBO World Champion Mbwana Matumla for the UBO Inter-Continental title, and in 2016 he came up short on the cards against Fadhili Majiha for the WBA Pan African title.
In 2018 he was on the winning side, when he stopped Ramadhani Kumbele to lift the UBO International title, and now he is looking to do the same to Selemani, even his championship-score against Tanzanians, and win his second UBO belt.
