Booysens Hall in Johannesburg, South Africa 22/5/21
Hekkie Budler marked his long-awaited return to the ring with an impressive victory, as he defeated Jonathan Almacen to claim the vacant WBC Silver light-flyweight title.
The two men were competing at Booysens Hall in Johannesburg, South Africa, in what was two-weight world champion Budler’s first fight since December 2018.
The long absence didn’t cause Budler any problems, as he won the fight by unanimous decision, with the judges scoring it 118-111, 118-111 and 117-111.
Elsewhere on the card, Hedda Wolmarans extended her unbeaten record, as she stopped Raider Muleba at the end of round two to make it 6-0 in the paid ranks.
Cruiserweight star Edin Puhalo was also in action this evening, as he was competing on an event taking place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Puhalo was able to return to winning ways, as he stopped Zoltan Sera in the fourth round to again prove himself to be a force at cruiserweight.
