Hekkie Budler Returns Against Jonathan Almacen This Saturday

Hekkie Budler is set to make his long-awaited return to the ring on Saturday when he faces Jonathan Almacen for the vacant WBC Silver light-flyweight title.

Former world champion Budler (32-4, 10 KOs) faces Almacen (7-3-2, 2 KOs) at Booysens Hall in Johannesburg, South Africa, in what is set to be Budler’s first fight since December 2018.

It’s been a sensational career for Budler, first winning a world title at minimumweight, before stepping up and claiming world honours at light-flyweight to become a two-weight world champion.

Budler now turns his attention to Almacen, who has previously shared the ring with world title challengers Robert Paradero and Arar Andales.

Elsewhere on the card, unbeaten Hedda Wolmarans is back in action, taking on Raider Muleba. Wolmorans is unbeaten in her career, winning all five of her fights, with three of those coming by knockout.
