Hovhannes Bachkov reveals new US coach
Super lightweight dangerman Hovhannes Bachkov has confirmed he will now be coached by world class trainer Manny Robles.
Bachkov, an Olympic bronze medallist, is 3-0 as a professional but already sits inside the top 15 rankings with the WBA.
The Armenian is being primed for a swift shot at world titles and will be based in Los Angeles for his next training camp, with the renowned Robles.
Robles is the coach of welterweight knockout artist Vergil Ortiz Junior and previously masterminded Andy Ruiz Junior’s shock 2019 stoppage of Anthony Joshua at Madison Square Garden.
Bachkov was previously coached by Danny Vaughan.The 29-year-old returned to the amateurs to win gold at the recent European Amateur Championships, which were held in his home country, but he will now pick up his pro career under the guidance of Robles, who also lists Oscar Valdez and Michael Conlan as boxers he has coached.
