Hundreds Attend The WBC Green Belt Amateur World Championships
More than 400 amateur boxers, their coaches, and families travelled from across the country to the Gulf Coast, thanks to the WBC Green Belt Amateur World Championship Series.
The three-day boxing tournament took place at the Mississippi Coast Convention Center, where boxers of all ages and weight classes were given an opportunity to test their boxing skills.
Sugar Bert Boxing Promotions sponsored the event in conjunction with USA Boxing, the World Boxing Council (WBC), WBC Cares, Title Boxing, Raynelo Management, Coastal Mississippi, and Raising Canes. Together, they worked tirelessly ahead of the event to ensure that fighters would have an opportunity to fight for bragging rights in a safe environment.
Competitors as young as age 8 were on a mission to challenge themselves by fighting the best of the best for championship status, which is rewarded with a Title Belt from Title Boxing. Furthermore, six boxers from different divisions were also selected to receive the coveted WBC Amateur Championship belt, a prestigious honor in the amateur boxing community.
