“I Would Offer Catterall a Lot of Money To fight Zepeda” – Bob Arum
Jose “Chon” Zepeda won the biggest fight of his career on Saturday night, KO’ing Ivan Baranchyk in what was more than likely fight of the year (so far).
Arum in an ideal world wants champ Jose Ramirez (26-0, 17 KO’s) to fight undisputed champion Josh Taylor (17-0, 13 KO’s) without Taylor having to face Jack Catterall (25-0, 13 KO’s), Taylor’s mandatory challenger.
“We’ll offer Catterall a fight with Zepeda, which he’ll turn down,” Arum said. “And then Catterall will fight the (Ramirez-Taylor) winner and then Zepeda will fight (for a world title). I would offer Catterall a lot of money to fight Zepeda but there’s no way he’s going to do that. I’d love to see that fight. I’d love to do it on the Ramirez-Taylor card.”
