India Crowns a New WBC Youth World Champion
In what has the makings of a sensational start to the new year for professional boxing in India, the city of Aizawl witnessed a star emerge from a night of fantastic pugilistic action.
21-year old Lalrinsanga Tlau is the new WBC Youth super-featherweight world champion after his magnificent display of power and speed got the better of his opponent, Ghanaian boxer Quarm, on the LPS Fight Night, organized by Grassroot Boxing Promotions in collaboration with LPS Vision Productions.
The smaller Tlau set about plotting his road to WBC Youth glory early in the contest landing the cleaner more efficient and effective shots early on. He pressed the action winning the key exchanges throughout the entire eight rounds.
When the final bell rang, the judges’ scores were read aloud, creating scenes of jubilation of triumphant joy for the local boxer, his team and those lucky enough to attend the event. A unanimous points victory for Lalrinsanga Tlau sealed the prestige of a WBC Youth world championship strap.
