Jack Bateson vs. Diego Alberto Ruiz: Probellum weights from Leeds
Jack Bateson vs. Diego Alberto Ruiz
Leeds United FC Banqueting Suite, Elland Road, Leeds, England – 18 June 2022
Jack Bateson’s opponent Diego Alberto Ruiz required a second attempt to make weight ahead of their super bantamweight showdown in Leeds.
Local hero Bateson tipped the scales just under the limit, at 121lbs, but Argentina’s Ruiz initially came in four ounces over.
But after a short run, Ruiz made the super bantamweight limit to confirm the main event tomorrow night at Elland Road.
Bateson acknowledges this fight is likely to be the toughest of his professional career but knows a win in front of his home fans will open the doors to a top 15 ranking with the WBA.
Ohara Davies came face-to-face with his opponent for Saturday night, at this afternoon’s weigh-in in Leeds city centre.
‘Two Tanks’ returns to action for the first time since November, by facing Abdessamad Nechchad over a scheduled 10 rounds.
Davies tipped the scales at just over 143lbs, with Nechchad at just over 141lbs.
Archie Sharp is determined to make a statement as he eyes major super featherweight fights during the second half of 2022.
‘Sharpshooter’ and his opponent, Alex Rat, both weighed in at just over 132lbs.
Saturday night’s show in Leeds is scheduled to start at 6:30pm.
