Jermaine Osbourne-Edwards vs. TBA

Hangar Events Venue, Wolverhampton, England – 22 July 2022

Jermaine Osbourne-Edwards insists he’s in boxing for the long-haul as he goes into a six-rounder for the first time.

That milestone is set to occur when BCB Promotions are back at the Hangar Events Venue, in Wolverhampton, on the Friday evening of July 22.

‘The Kundalini King’ feels ready to test himself over an advanced distance, after completing three four-rounders in the pro ranks so far.

Osbourne-Edwards has encountered little resistance racking up those points successes, seeing off MJ Hall, ‘Fonz’ Alexander and Petar Aleksandrov so far.

The 33-year-old southpaw took on Aleksandrov last time out and felt aggrieved at having a point deducted, due to a hotly-disputed knockdown in the last round.

That didn’t stop him easing to a comfortable points verdict, through a 39-37 scoreline, adding to 40-36 points whitewashes over Hall and Alexander.

The popular welterweight also has a TKO on his pro record, dropping overwhelmed Bulgarian visitor Krasikir Vasilev five times in just 152 seconds, for a first-round stoppage.

His pro record now stands at 4-0, building upon a short amateur career with Merridale Boxing Club, in his home city of Wolverhampton, which yielded 10 bouts and nine victories.

The former gang member has turned his life around, after a murky past growing up on the Dovecotes estate, in Pendeford, and is now trained by former professional Richie Carter.

Osbourne-Edwards said: “I’m a very spiritual person now and the ‘Kundalini’ term comes from meditation. I believe in harnessing the energies that we have in our bodies.

“All of my training camps are good and we have stepped it up for each one, but I’ve had a lot more sparring for this one and it’s been high-intensity rounds.

“I’ve done a lot of sparring with Tommy (Collins, fellow pro) and he’s a busy fighter, but I’ve performed well and I’m ready for the next challenge.

“I was pleased enough with my last performance, but I wasn’t happy about the knockdown, because it was a slip. My foot clashed with one of his and I tripped.

“The referee wasn’t having it, though, so I gave it to my opponent for the last little bit of the round. I wasn’t hurt, at all, so I put it down to experience.

“The more fights I have, the more I’m getting better and this will be another test of my abilities. It’s a bit like making your debut, in not knowing what to expect.

“In my mind, the only way is up for me and that means getting out of my comfort zone. This is the start of stepping up towards titles.

“I’ve really got my heart set on becoming a Midlands champion, but there’s no rush and I know it won’t be a push over when I get there.”

Tickets for the Hangar bill are available, priced at £40 standard or £75 VIP ringside with buffet, from the BCB Box Office by calling 07493 582 261 or visiting myfighttickets.com.
