JoJo Diaz Faces Javier Fortuna in Los Angeles On July 9

Former world champion JoJo Diaz returns to action this summer when he goes up against Javier Fortuna in a huge fight at lightweight.

The must-see showdown is set to take place on a Golden Boy event in Los Angeles, California on July 9, and will be broadcast live on DAZN.

Diaz (31-1-1, 15 KOs) is back following his draw with undefeated Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov in February, with the 28-year-old looking to get back to winning ways in style.

Diaz won the IBF super-featherweight title in January 2020 with a fantastic unanimous decision win over Tevin Farmer, and now has the chance to secure some massive fights at both 135lbs and 130lbs if he is able to defeat Fortuna.

Fortuna (36-2-1, 25 KOs) won the WBA world super-featherweight title back in 2015, and was last in action in November when he earned a knockout victory against Antonio Lozada Torres.
