JoJo Diaz Faces Off With Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov at Final Presser
Joseph Diaz is ready to show everybody just why he feels he is the best 130lb fighter in the world as he prepares to defend his IBF super-featherweight title against Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov tomorrow night.
Diaz (31-1, 15 KOs) defends his world title against undefeated Rakhimov (15-0, 12 KOs) on a Golden Boy Promotions event in at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California, live on DAZN.
It sees Diaz make his highly-anticipated return to the ring after over 12 months out, and ‘JoJo’ is looking forward to putting on a dazzling display.
Diaz said: “I’m going to go out there and perform at my best. I’ll be entertaining the fans and showing everyone what I’m all about and that I’m the best fighter at 130lbs.
“It’s been a year lay off, but it was a good year as I was able to see my new born son and able to enjoy life as a normal person. I’ve now got a tough challenge ahead of me and I will take this fight seriously. I know what he’s capable of doing and he’s a serious threat, but I will be able to adapt to what he has come Saturday night.
“I don’t think I get the respect I deserve. I have dealt with so much adversity in my career and life. I’m tough as nails and I have trained and focused on getting the job done. I am not letting anything prevent me from where I want to be.
“I’m ready for whatever he brings to the table, if he thinks he can overwhelm me with his power, it won’t happen. I’ll take shots and deliver them, whatever they have in store I’ll adapt, and there is no way I’ll let this belt go on Saturday.”
