Jono Carroll and Andy Vences will fight a World Boxing Association (WBA) title eliminator at Super Featherweight at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, in Florida, this Saturday.

The fight will be part of the event in which the legend Evander Holyfield will fight in an exhibition match against Vitor Belfort as the main show.

Carroll, from Ireland, occupies the fourth position in the ranking and will face American Vences, who is in the seventh place. Both are experienced fighters who feel ready for the highest level, so the fight will be a litmus test for both of them.

Carroll has experience in world title fights so he has a plus point. The 29-year-old boxer from Dublin comes from defeating the then undefeated Romic Airapetean from Moldova, in a great victory that has been important for his aspirations.

Vences is 30 years old and comes at a difficult time but with a great opportunity to get back on track if he defeats Carroll in this fight that looks pretty close on paper.

Carroll’s record is 19 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw, and 5 KOs, while Vences has 23 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw, and 12 KOs.
