Jose Carlos Ramirez Aims to Be Undisputed Super Lightweight Champion
Tough and talented Mexican American super lightweight champion of the World Boxing Council and WBO, José Carlos Ramírez claims to be ready to make history and become the undisputed champion in the 140-pound division when he faces the also unbeaten, “Tartan Tornado” Josh Taylor.
Ramirez will face the Scot, who is a champion and winner of the WBSS tournament, in Las Vegas on May 22, determined to prove once and for all who is the best fighter in the division.
This is what the proud fighter of Mexican heritage commented to Fox Sports. He`s not only a great champion inside the ring, but also under it, as he is a great activist constantly defending the rights of the Latino community and migrant people in California. He said:
“It is a very big fight, which will distinguish my career forever. It is very important to me and my family. Fans want to see these kinds of fights.
“He’s a great boxer, he’s undefeated. I imagine he is just as motivated as I am. So, should it be with boxers at this level.
“There are many Latino people who will be supporting me, and I will do my best to fill them with pride and happiness.“
