Josue Morales defeats Omny Padilla for UBO Latino title in Tolu, Columbia
Josue Morales vs. Omny Padilla
Tolu, Colombia 28/9/21
UBO Latino Super Flyweight Championship
On Saturday, August 28, Josue Morales captured the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Latino Super Flyweight title defeating late substitute Omny Padilla in Tolu, Colombia.
Houston´s Morales (28) wasn’t allowed an easy nights work, as Padilla, coming off a victory just last week, came to fight but couldn’t catch up to the more skilled American southpaw.
After ten rounds of boxing it was clear that Morales had won the vast majority of the rounds. All three judges scored it 100-90 in his favour.
“Zurdo” Morales has now won five straight fights this year, and improved his professional record to 16-12-4 (3). Padilla, from Barranquilla, falls to 8-21 (3).
The fight was promoted by 4×4 Promotions.
The new UBO Latino Super Flyweight Champion is now scheduled to fight for the UBO International Bantamweight title on September 10 in his home-town, Houston.
He will be taking a step up in class, as he faces hard-punching and experienced former WBC and WBA World Champion Juan “El Exterminador” Palacios (29-11-2, 22 KOs) from Nicaragua.
