Julio Cesar Martinez Aims to Bulldoze McWilliams Arroyo

During 2019, hard hitting Julio Cesar Martínez surprised everyone with his impactful fighting pace, and iron clad determination.

He defeated Andrew Selby to get book ticket and contest the world title. Later, he missed the opportunity due to a lack of concentration to be crowned in the United Kingdom against Charlie Edwards.

“Rey” managed to regroup to win the WBC fly crown in his next fight, stopping  Cristofer Rosales in one of the best fights of the year.

If something has distinguished Julio César, it is that he is always willing to face the greatest challenges regardless of the rival and the venue of the fight. On February 29, 2020, he faced and defeated the ruggedly brave  Jay Harris, again starring in one of the best fights of the year.

Despite the pandemic, “Rey” Martínez tried to maintain activity and faced Moisés Calleros, a rival who arrived with more weight; However, Julio did not want to disappoint his fans and accepted the fight. His punching power was too much and he gained another impressive win.

This 2021, Julio Cesar Martínez starts his mission to unify the titles, and climb up a division. However, he will first address his mandatory commitment, facing Puerto Rican warrior, McWilliams Arroyo.

Arroyo is a tough opponent who has faced and defeated the best superfly fighters of the moment. Now, in a division in which he feels more comfortable, McWilliams hopes to become the next WBC flyweight champion  and add another brilliant chapter to the rivalry between Mexicans and Puerto Ricans.
