Karim Guerfi will look to once again become European champion as he steps up to featherweight to challenge Andoni Gago for his EBU featherweight title next month.

The two men will collide on a MGZ Promotions show at the Marbella Arena in Spain on Friday 13 August, with Guerfi back in action following his clash with Lee McGregor in March.

Guerfi (29-5, 9 KOs) is jumping up to 126lbs for the showdown, as he looks to build on the impressive stoppage victories he has picked up against the likes of Georges Ory and Stephane Jamoye in recent years.

Gago (24-3-4, 7 KOs) was last in the ring in April, where his title defence against Gavin McDonnell ended in a fifth round technical draw due to an accidental headbutt.

Gago won the belt in 2019 with a split decision win over Jesus Sanchez, and has also shared the ring with fighters such as Lee Selby and Viorel Simion in his career.
