Kye Whyte heads to Olympics following journey with MTK Foundation
Kye Whyte is all set to compete at the Tokyo Olympics over the next fortnight – after an incredible journey that coincided with support from the MTK Foundation.
Whyte started his BMX career when he was just three-years-old, and was one of the first people to receive help from the MTK Foundation after the foundation assisted with providing bikes for the youngsters of Peckham BMX.
Peckham BMX Club in London began in 2004 when radio DJ and TV Presenter and entrepreneur CK Flash was approached by Southwark Council and Edwards Bike Shop in London to take on the challenge of clearing a patch of waste ground on Naylor Road Peckham.
It has benefitted Whyte massively, as his hard work and determination then saw him join British Cycling three years ago, before securing his place at the Tokyo Olympics.
Head of MTK Foundation Spencer Fearon said: “Kye Whyte is definitely a stone that has turned into a diamond. He is rated as the fastest man in the world around a BMX track and can pass riders like nobody has ever seen before.
“He can go from last to first in one straight, and he is definitely the main man for the Olympic Games.”
