Lee McGregor will be back in action next month when he defends his European bantamweight title against Narek Abgaryan.

McGregor (11-0, 9 KOs) has signed a co-promotional deal with Matchroom Boxing and Probellum, and returns to action at the AO Arena in Manchester on Saturday 18 December.

The undefeated star was last in action in August when he defended his European title with a stoppage win over Vincent Legrand, and the 24-year-old hopes a victory moves him closer to a world title shot.

McGregor said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be getting back in the ring defending my European Title against Narek Abgaryan. This is another step closer to me becoming a world champion. I have the best team possible and I believe with Matchroom and Probellum backing me, I can win world titles at multiple weights.”

Matchroom Sport Chairman Eddie Hearn added: “I’m delighted to welcome reigning European, British and Commonwealth Bantamweight Champion Lee McGregor to the team.
