Luis ‘Pantera’ Nery Vows to Unify World Title

Undefeated World Boxing Council super bantamweight champion Luis ‘Pantera’ Nery (31-0, 24 KO’s), seeks to unify the crown by defeating other divisional champions.

Fernando Beltrán, leader of Zanfer Promotions, commented in an interview that his company is planning a fight for Nery against the undefeated Brandon Figueroa (20-0-1, 16 KO’s), the WBA champion.

“Nery will be back in the ring very soon. Only some minor details to iron out, but what is intended, is a unification against Brandon Figueroa. We think it will be a great fight and we have a chance to come out with our hands up. It would be very interesting if his first defense was a unification, “said Beltrán.

Nery is coming off winning his second world title in a different division, defeating previously unbeaten Aaron Alameda (25-1, 13 KO’s) in a tough fight on September 26.

Fernando Beltrán, lider de Promociones Zanfer, comentó en entrevista que su empresa está planeando un combate de Nery contra el invicto Brandon Figueroa (20-0-1, 16 KO’s), campeón de la AMB.

“Nery regresará al ring muy pronto. Solo algunos pequeños detalles nos detienen, pero es lo que se pretende, la una unificación contra Brandon Figueroa. Creemos que será una gran pelea y tenemos posibilidades de salir con la mano en alto. Sería muy interesante que su primera defensa fuera una unificación,” comentó Beltrán.

Nery viene de ganar el su segundo titulo mundial en difernte división, al derrotar al previamente invicto Aaron Alameda (25-1, 13 KO’s) en una pelea muy dura, el pasado 26 de septiembre.
