Manny Pacquiao: “I love defeating great fighters and honoring my country”
Errol Spence Jr vs. Manny Pacquiao
Las Vegas, USA – 21/8/21
The welterweight champion of the World Boxing Council, Errol Spence Jr, will face the Philippine legend, Manny Pacquiao, on August 21 in Las Vegas.
In the show “Power & Play” Pacquiao commented on some aspects of this important fight:
“I’m not like other guys who are into boxing just for the money. I want to fight, and I want to challenge the best. If I was fighting just for the money, I would have picked an easy opponent, but on the contrary, I’m facing an undefeated fighter and world champion.
“This is a real fight. I do this because it is my passion. I love defeating great fighters and honoring my country.
“I need to have stamina and superb conditioning for the fight against Spence. In this fight we will have more action in the ring compared to my last three fights.
“I have to make sure that my stamina is enough to last the 12 rounds.”
Pacquiao, 42, hasn’t fought since July 2019 when he scored a win over Keith Thurman. In January of the same year, Pacquiao defeated Adrien Broner also by decision.
Errol is coming off from defeating Danny Garcia last year in a great match.
