Manuel Charr vs. Christopher Lovejoy May 15th
Manuel Charr vs. Christopher Lovejoy
EC Boxing Promotion Gym
Former WBA ‘regular’ world champion Manuel Charr (Mahmoud Charr) will fight for the first time since 25/11/17, facing Don King promoted and unbeaten Christopher “Pretty Boy” Lovejoy (19-0, 19 KOs).
It has been a frustrating time for Charr with legal issues preventing him fighting then being stripped of his ‘title’ (cleverly orchestrated by Don King) but finally (if it happens) he will be back in the ring.
“It’s time to finally get back in the ring,” stated Charr. “I am in absolutely top shape! Lovejoy will suffer the first defeat of his career and that’s just the beginning!”
Lovejoy is an untested heavyweight, with all of the 37-year-old Lovejoy’s fights having taken place in Tijuana, Mexico.
It will be an interesting bout with the victor more than likely to face Trevor Bryan for Charr’s old title. Failing that, the victor to face one of the top 10 heavyweights that are currently ‘parked up’ amid the current legal situation and confusion at the top of the heavyweight rankings.
