Joe Maphosa will look to get the biggest win of his career so far when he takes on Craig Derbyshire for the vacant English super-flyweight title next month.

The two men go head to head at the Rainton Meadows Arena on Friday 10 September, on a card that also sees Jordan Barker-Porter make her long-awaited professional debut.

Undefeated Maphosa (10-0, 1 KO) finally gets the chance to compete for the English title, as he returns to action for the first time since February 2020.

He faces Derbyshire, who has had a career resurgence as of late, winning the Central Area bantamweight title in 2018, and the English super-flyweight title in 2019, before losing it on a narrow majority decision to Marcel Braithwaite.

The card sees Barker-Porter enter the paid ranks too, with the highly-rated women’s boxer looking to replicate the success that she had as an amateur.
