Miguel “Alacran” Berchelt Plots The Path Of Return
Three months after suffering his second professional defeat, almost six years after the first setback, Miguel
“Alacran” Berchelt, resolves that in order to return to stellar stardom, there must be a solar wind of change.
In February, swallowing the bitter pill of suffering another KO, was a painful palliative , because with it also ended his super featherweight reign of the World Boxing Council, which today Oscar Valdez owns.
The former champion plans his return, aware that he must enact changes: “People would like to see a Miguel Berchelt make the difference. Many know that I`d had Covid-19, and there was not much recovery time. It`s a disease that we are just getting to know. There are no excuses, but without a doubt I am sure of there is a need to regain the scorpion sting. We are going to climb back from this all the stronger.”
With the defeat digested, at 29 he feels strong and inspired to return for a rematch: “I have to overcome this defeat. I already know the path in my heart. It`ll be tempered with intelligence and governed by a lot of discipline. We must keep going and we will rise to 135 pounds in my first fight and then return to 130 pounds, aiming for the possibility of a rematch.”
