Mikhail Aloyan vs. Oleksandr Hryshchuk Result
Sibur Arena in St. Petersburg, Russia 4/6/21
Mikhail Aloyan retained his World Boxing Association (WBA) Gold Super Flyweight belt by defeating Ukrainian Oleksandr Hryshchuk on Friday at the Sibur Arena in St. Petersburg, Russia.
The southpaw fighter showed superiority in the fight and maintained his Gold champion status thanks to his skills in the ring, which tipped the scales to his favor at all times. The challenger did not come out for the ninth round due to the punishment he was receiving.
Aloyan is looking for another world title shot after losing to Zoleni Tete in 2018 for the WBO title. The Russian returned in 2019 to win the Gold belt and now defended it for the first time after being inactive due to the pandemic.
This was Aloyan’s sixth win, the first by knockout, while he has one loss. Hryshchuk left his record at 16 wins, 5 losses, and 6 KOs.
