Fight Notes: Referee Jack Reiss waved the bout off at 2:45 of round 3 for a Morrell victory. 50:1 favorite Morrell came in two pounds over at the weigh-in so was changed to a super middleweight non-title bout (WBA interim super middleweight title not on the line).

Fight Notes: Kirkland was down a total of three times before the bout was waved off at 1:56 of the 1st round. Montiel, who was a slight -130 favorite is the nephew of former world champion Fernando Montiel.
