Natasha Jonas Aiming to Avenge Amateur Defeat with Katie Taylor May 1st
Katie Taylor vs. Natasha Jonas May 1st
Next Saturday, May 1, at a venue to be defined in the United Kingdom, the undisputed lightweight champion, Katie Taylor (17-0, 6 KOs), takes on skilled fighter Natasha Jonas (9-1-1, 7 KOs) in what is expected to be a suitably intriguing fight.
Taylor defeated Jonas in the quarterfinals of the 2012 London Olympics. The two warriors will now face off almost ten years later, so they can finally patch up their differences.
Needled by her initial loss, Jonas assures that she is well prepared to face Taylor and possesses she all the tools to defeat her.
“I am having a great training camp and I will be ready for everything that Katie presents that night. I’m not going to reveal my battle plan, but I assure I have an answer for every Taylor tactic,” Jonas commented.
“Katie is one of the best along with Claressa Shields, but I’m ready to show my skills for thrills. . I’m one of those people that the more they tell you that I can’t do something, the more I’m going to show that I can. I don’t mind not being the favorite. It motivates me more to be in this position.”
The show, which is promoted by Matchroom Boxing, will be televised on Sky Sports in the UK and on DAZN.
