Nathan Mizon vs. Jakub Laskowski

Tower Bridge Hotel, Tower Bridge, London, England – 4 March 2022

Fightzone returns to the capital this Friday March 4 with a live show from the Tower Bridge Hotel.

The Fight Academy card encapsulates perfectly what Fightzone is all about, showcasing some of the UK’s brightest young talent and giving boxing fans the opportunity to follow these fledgling fighters at the beginning of their pro journeys.

On headline duties will be Nathan Mizon. The 21-year-old, known as ‘Mr Excitement’, is 3-0 and claimed his first inside-the-distance win in November last year when he blitzed Czech opponent, Jan Prokes, in a round.

This time around, the fighter from Tadworth, Surrey, will get another East European opponent in Jakub Laskowski. The Polish fighter should provide a decent test for Nathan at this stage of his career, with 17 bouts under his belt and just two stoppage defeats on his record. In July last year, the 26-year-old also gave boxing legend Ricky Hatton’s son, Campbell, some decent rounds, taking him the four round distance.

Also making a good start to the pro game is Harry Mullins, another fighter with a 3-0 record. The 19-year-old from Bromley was a National Champion as an amateur before turning pro last June. With father, Samm, on corner duties, and guided by experienced manager Sam Kynoch, the light-flyweight has a great team behind him as he looks to make an instant impression in the pro ranks.

“I can fight in the pocket and then if I want to be comfortable and look slick on the back foot, I can do that too,” said Harry. “I’ve always believed my style suits the pro game. I’m no one-trick pony waiting to be found out, and I can change it up if I have to.”

Also on the bill are two debutants, Louise Orton and Dee Allen. From Leytonstone, Dee took up boxing aged 16 to help lose weight before going on to have 34 amateur bouts. The 30-year-old managed to win the prestigious Haringey Cup in the unpaid ranks, as well as picking up the ‘Best Female Boxer’ award. Also managed by Sam Kynoch, and trained by Noel Callan, Will Jones and John Sparks – Dee is looking forward to making her pro bow.

“For people who’ve never seen me box you’re in for a treat. I’m very experienced and my fights have been said to be really entertaining, I box well at long range and on the inside and have very good footwork. I believe in myself one hundred per cent and with the unconditional support from my team I believe I can go all the way to the top.”

Louise Orton is definitely in the ‘one to watch’ category. The 30-year-old won a host of accolades as an amateur including Southern Counties, Haringey Box Cup, and Three Nations titles, as well as being the England Boxing National Elite Lightweight Champion in 2019. From Kent, Louise learned her trade at Chatham’s well-respected St Mary’s ABC and amassed 38 amateur contests before deciding to punch for pay.

“I want to challenge for and win every possible title,” said the senior mental health nurse who works in a prison. “I want to be number one and I will give my all until I reach the top.”

France’s Johanna Wonyou will make her UK debut on the show. A Bronze Medallist in the World Championship, Johanna was a tremendous amateur and is already the French Flyweight Champion after just three pro wins! Johanna is also trained by Samm Mullins and managed by Sam Kynoch.

Ismael Francois is another French national getting a first outing in the UK. From Rouen, and a pro since 2015, the 31-year-old has lost just once in nine fights.

Also appearing is Guildford’s Alfie Winter. The 24-year-old is trained by former world title challenger, Kevin Mitchell, and made a successful start to his pro career beating tough journeyman Kevin McCauley in February.
