3-1 underdog Filipino Flash is world champion once again.

Former four-division champion Nonito Donaire (41-6, 27 KOs) became the oldest boxer to win a version of the world bantamweight title by knocking out the previously unbeaten and 3:1 favourite, WBC bantamweight champion Nordine Oubaali (17-1, 12 KOs).

In the first two rounds, Donaire and Oubaali tried to figure each other out but in the third, it all changed as Donaire sent the 34-year-old Frenchman to the canvas. He got up, but a left hook found its mark once again, this time just after the bell rang for the end of round three. The referee issued a count to which Oubaali beat but went back to his corner on not so steady legs.

In the fourth round, Oubaali had still not fully recovered with Donaire now looking to close the show, which he did, with Oubaali on the ropes and landing a violent left uppercut. Oubaali literally slumped to the deck with referee Jack Reiss not having to issue a count as he immediately signalled the end of the fight. The time of the stoppage was 1:52 min.

With the win, Donaire (41-6, 27 KOs) became the oldest man to win a bantamweight title. For Nordine Oubaali, however, it was the first defeat in his professional career.
