“The Explosive Thin Man”, Alexis Arguello, from Nicaragua, conserved the WBC super featherweight world title after defeating Alfredo Escalera, from Puerto Rico, by TKO in round 13.
The match was a veritable battleground. It took place in Puerto Rico. The Referee was Arthur Mercante, halted the fight due to cuts. The Judges were Dick Young and Jose Juan Guerra.
