Up in the ring installed at the Luis Aparicio Stadium in Maracaibo, Venezuela. Local Betulio Gonzalez conquered the vacant WBC flyweight title after defeating Mexican opponent, Miguel Canto, by split decision in 15 rounds. Canto would take revenge defeating Bolaños several times. The fight was promoted by Rafito Cedeño.
