Mexican, Miguel Angel Gonzalez, defended his WBC lightweight championship defeating Jean Baptiste Mendy with a fifth round TKO. The clash took place at the Palace Marcel Cardan de Levallois-Perret, France. It abruptly ended at two minutes 0:49 seconds of the mentioned round, when Referee, Arthur Mercante, stopped the fight. The Judges were Franz Marti, Tom Kaczmarek and Chuck Hassett.
