Puerto Rican Estéban de Jesus, defended the WBC lightweight title after stopping Mexican challenger Vicente Mijares in eleven rounds. The fight was at the Loubriel Stadium in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. The third man in the ring was Raymond Baldeyrou, from France.
