Palmetto Defeats Wiggins in Six Rounds

What was scheduled as a ten round fight, the fight was evenly fought until a barrage of punches put Wiggins down, beating the count but stopped shortly after whilst on the ropes. Time was 1:24 of round six.

The fight was for the vacant World Boxing Association International welterweight title at the Ocean Center, in Daytona Beach, Florida and promoted by Christy Martin Promotions – Christy Martin/Payne Boxing, their first event since COVID-19.

Francisco Emanuel Torres (15-3, 5 KO’s) W PTS 8 Cleotis Pendarvis (21-6-2,  9 KO’s) 

This fight was the co-feature and for the vacant WBA Fedcaribe junior middleweight title. Scores 79-73 twice and 78-74.
