It’s fight week in Glasgow as Hannah Rankin makes the first defence of her WBA and IBO Super-Welterweight titles against Alejandra Ayala.

The media whirlwind continues for the boxers featuring at the OVO Hydro this Friday, exclusively live on Fightzone.

A hugely popular public workout in Glasgow’s St Enoch Centre last Saturday, followed by a media workout on Monday and yesterday we hosted the official fight week press conference. The event is generating headlines in Scotland as the country counts down the days until the historic event gets underway.

Hannah Rankin and Alejandra have been respectful throughout, however both boxers are fully aware of the significance this event is for women’s boxing, particularly in their respective countries and they are fully-focused on the serious business at hand in Glasgow.

An open top bus transported the champion and challenger through the streets of Glasgow, stopping at landmarks throughout the city and ending at the entrance to the OVO Hydro, the iconic venue that this ground-breaking event will be held for another round of media activities.

Tomorrow, the boxers come face to face for the final time as they take to the scales at the public weigh-in. The next time Hannah Rankin and Alejandra Ayala meet, will be in the centre of the ring.
