Sarah Mahfoud vs. Nina Menke
Bröndby Hallen, Copenhagen, Denmark – 7 January 2022
In one month, on January 7th, 2022, the SES boxer will meet Sarah Mahfoud, the Danish IBF featherweight champion, in Copenhagen
She had to wait so long for this great opportunity, various scheduled dates had to be postponed. But now the fight for the IBF featherweight world championship has been set.
On January 7th, 2022 in the Bröndby Hallen in Copenhagen, Nina Meinke, the European featherweight champion, will meet the unbeaten IBF world champion Sarah Mahfoud (10-0-0, 3 KOs) as the official challenger. The sympathetic and always optimistic Berliner Nina Meinke (12-2-0, 3 KOs) has been in the intensive preparation for several months and is overjoyed that this world championship fight is now officially scheduled. After winning the European Championship in November 2018, the clear goal was to finally box for a world championship.
Nina Meinke : “Patience pays off! It was an endless waiting line, especially in these times of Corona, but now the World Cup fight is on. Fortunately, I was able to do a few more fights and since Sarah Mahfoud has only had one fight in the last two years, I see myself at an advantage there too. The fact is, I want to clearly defeat the world champion, even if it will be an “away game”, and definitely bring this title to Germany with all my might. It is about time that more women in German boxing were finally crowned with a world championship belt!”
